Love to Dance & Draw

Although it was still very very chilly yesterday we are excited that Spring is on the way this week and we just love being outside.

On Sunday we had some sun mixed in with our windy conditions and Ethan was playing outside.... so cute watching him play his games, chat to our dog Forrest and go off on adventures.

Without him seeing me, I snuck outside to take a few photos - he was dancing away without a care in world singing and laughing....Then after taking a break from all the hectic playing, he took his sketch pad outside and sat down our deck to do some drawing.

He took his time to look around and consider what he would draw... deciding on our Olive Tree - who we call Serge.

I have to say that I was very impressed with his fantastic artwork, so we took a photo of the drawing and a very proud artist!
I love seeing Ethan use his imagination and explore different creative areas.

It's the Little Things

This week it's been rather hectic and a little bit stressed here at the Cackleberry Kids house... lots to do with the new collection, deadlines looming, submissions to be put together and the normal array of 'Stuff' we all have to do.

Tuesday happened to be a particularly full on day and I who am normally quite controlled was feeling the panic.... then all of sudden I noticed that my lovely cherry blossom trees were budding and I just felt so much better!

The hint of spring was starting to appear and it just made me smile

Then to totally brighten my day, my wonderful boys gave me a beautiful bunch of tulips - sitting at my dinning room table, typing like a mad women I looked up and they just looked amazing with the sun coming in through the
windows - its was so lovely and I felt so uplifted and inspired to get over my mountain...

Celebrating Women!

I love meeting and reading about fantastic and inspirational women doing great things with their businesses. I have been so fortunate to have met some of the most amazing business women via a fantastic network that brings women together in an environment that I've not ever experienced in the past.

This network is Skout Trade Fair and it's founder, Louise Donnelly-Davey has really taken social networking to a new level. She has created an environment that makes you feel confident, successful and really allows you grow.
Skout- Kids Product Directory (KPD) is your online resource for finding the hottest kids, baby, maternity and yummy mummy products from around the Globe. So if you have some time, please go and have a look - you'll love it!! http://skouttradefair.ning.com/

Another fabulous friend I've met along the way is the wonderful and creative Jacqui from Mee a Bee! She is amazingly talented and an all round great person - her designs are heartfelt and unique, with a high standard of quality from the fabric selection to the finished product.
Just this week Mee a Bee received 10 out of 10 Review from Best Buys 4 Baby - and it is so deserved!
Mee a Bee is also participating in the upcoming Mathilda's Market being held in Sydney on the 5th July at St Ignatius College Riverview from 9am to 1pm.... so for your little bit of Mee a Bee to take home - pay a visit on the 5th!
If you can't make it on the 5th, Mee a Bee has a fabulous Esty shop - so don't forget to check it out if you get a chance - it's worth it! http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5367229

My Inspiration

Good Afternoon!
Now that we have made the jump into this wonderful world of blogging... the pressure is on to ensure that we write wonderful and interesting things that you would want to read and share with us.... so on went my thinking cap!
Shh... don't tell anyone, but I actually started wondering what on Earth I would write about this morning at 3am!!

So I thought that a good place to start was to share who and what inspires me when I'm working on Cackleberry Kids.

My greatest inspiration comes from my Little Man - Ethan. He has just turned 3 years old and is full of personality and lots of advice on fabrics and colour. He loves being involved and getting right in there to work with us when we are marking up production samples, selecting fabrics, buttons and colours.

We know we are on the right path when he tells us how cool something is or when you see his face light up when he is trying on the various outfits - it certainly does make it all worthwhile when you see the smile.

We take our role in our children's lives so seriously and want to ensure that we give them every opportunity to be happy, loved, confident and ultimately successful.

So that's where I pull my inspiration from.

Enjoy your day!
